10 Things you need to know
before your first ride
Rides for Good is not a traditional taxi service, and rides must be scheduled a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
Yes. To ensure that your rides fall under our approved use-cases, all passengers must fill out our easy registration form prior to their first ride.
Rides for Good is a fee-for-service nonprofit program that provides incredibly affordable rides throughout Frederick County and surrounding areas. If passengers qualify, ride fees can be discounted or waived through our Good Neighbor Fund, give us a call at our offices to find out more!
Paying for your ride is a lot like an EZ-Pass account, in that you maintain a “bank” of funds that each ride will draw down upon, and can be recharged over time. If you’ve already registered your passenger account, visit this page to manage your account balance.
For liability reasons, Children under the age of 18 are currently not permitted to ride with the Rides for Good program. We are currently working to increase our liability coverage to include children and updates are projected to be made to this policy in Early 2027.
Rides are facilitated through our Ride-Match portal, Assisted Rides, which registered passengers can easily access via the blue button at the top of this screen!
Visiting our About us page will provide a list of approved ride cases for the Rides for Good program. Exceptions are made, and this is not a perfect list, but nonetheless will give you a general idea of how you can use our program.
Of course! Our drivers are not only friendly, but all drivers must pass a thorough background check, driving record check, and are trained to be safe drivers and handle many sensitive situations such as disabilities, trauma response, and in some cases, hearing impairment.
One of three easy ways: Donate, Spread the Word, or most importantly, Volunteer!
